Indication of Electrosurgery
Common dermatologic indications for electrofulguration or electrodesiccation for a superficial skin ablation include acrochordons, actinic keratosis, small angiomas, epidermal nevus, seborrheic keratosis, verruca plana, or hemostasis for capillary bleeding. Electrocoagulation or deep skin ablation can be used to treat angiofibromas, basal cell carcinoma, Bowen’s disease, squamous cell carcinoma, ingrown toenail matrixectomy, sebaceous hyperplasia, hemostasis from arterial bleeding, benign adnexal tumors (syringoma, trichoepithelioma), or verruca vulgaris.

The Surgitron FFPF EMC is a 90 Watt RF Surgical generator that utilizes 1.7 MHz Bipolar. The FFPF EMC offers four distinct waveforms for optimum results – Fully filtered (Cut), Fully rectified (Cut/Coag), Partially rectified (Coag), Fulguration. Fulguration is used for intentional tissue damage. The Ellman FFPF has a duty-cycle of 10-15 sec.
